Love, Joy, Peace...
"Love God, Live His Word, and Love Each Other"
We are Highland Hill Community Church, a conservative, traditional Baptist church in Tacoma, Washington. Our roots go back to 1954 when we began as a Southern Baptist mission and officially organized later that year with 27 charter members. From meeting in a rented home to relocating buildings from Fort Lewis, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness through the years. We are excited to shine the gospel of Jesus to Tacoma and beyond.
Love God
As Christian people, we understand the greatness of our God as revealed to us in Scripture. In order to truly love others we have to first know and love the God who is Love. There is no other like Him.
Love His Word
What is Truth? A leader once asked this question of Jesus. And it is still asked today. As Christians we are to be a people of the book. This is not to say no other church is doing this, but rather it is a recognition on our part that if I love, I will love His word above all other creeds or writings.
Love Each Other
Our world uses the word love a lot. As Christians, we are to be a people that loves. This flows from God, as we cannot truly love if our love for Him is out of place. We cannot love if we are not loving what God said. Jesus said that Christians would be identified by their love. This means that in our church, love covers a multitude of sins. If a brother or sister hurts our feelings, our first reaction is to love as Christ loved. This does not mean evil and sin are excused, but rather our love compels us to encourage everyone in humility and truthfulness to follow God above all else.
